Stilbite, (Na2,Ca,K2)Al2Si7O18.7H2O (Hydrated Sodium Calcium Potassium Aluminium Silicate), is a common zeolite mineral whose crystals tend to clump together into "wheat sheaf"-like aggregates. Whether in this form or not, Stilbite is a aesthetic specimen with its clean pearly luster and often colourful pink and rosy tints.
Description : This specimen consists of a number of clusters of classic Stilbite "sheaves". Each sheaf is made up of many aggregated, platy crystals that have very good monoclinic form. A very pleasing pearly lustre in good light.
Location : New Street Quarry, Patterson, New Jersey, USA.
