Jasper is a variety of microcrystalline Quartz, SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide). It is a widely found rock-building material found in many shapes and forms. It is one of the most commonly used materials by people, having uses in glass manufacture, jewellery, decoration and in ancient days for producing sparks to start fires.
Description: A triangular matrix of Jasper showing a striking pattern of dark and light green mottling. Some crystalline structure can be seen by the strong reflections of individual crystal faces within the matrix. The specimen has a pearly luster.
