Mineral Notes: Quartz is a widely found rock-building material found in many shapes and forms. It is one of the most commonly used materials by people, having uses in glass manufacture, electronic equipment, jewelry, decoration and in ancient days for producing sparks to start fires.
Description: Numerous, large Quartz crystals on a thin matrix of red Hematite. The crystals have flattened-pyramidal form with a hexagonal cross-section. Most ahow a marked degree of transparency, making them very gemmy. Covering the surface of several crystals are upright, blade-like crystals of black Specularite. These contrast very attractively with teh Quartz. A very aesthetic display specimen.
