Stilbite, (Na2,Ca,K2)Al2Si7O18.7H2O (Hydrated Sodium Calcium Potassium Aluminium Silicate), is a common zeolite mineral whose crystals tend to clump together into wheat sheafs. Whether in this form or not, Stilbite is a aesthetic specimen with its clean pearly luster and often colourful pink and rosy tints.
Description: This specimen consists of a number of cluster of Stilbite "sheaves" lining the inside of a matrix cavity. Each sheaf is made up of many aggregated, platy crystals that have very good monoclinic form. There is one large crystal on the front which has been split horizontally and it shows the wonderful radiating form of these crystal structures. This really is a first class example of this species.
