Mineral Notes: Fluorite is found in a wide range of geologic environments, ranging from inclusions in granite to replacement deposits in limestones. It is one of the most commonly collected minerals because of the beauty of its specimens.
Description: A substantial, almost matrix-free, cluster of joined Fluorite crystals. Many are twinned and some show successive growth zones. The colour is a characteristic dark green with a pearly luster. Some of the crystal faces appear to have a frosted surface, giving rise to an interesting effect. The largest crystal is almost 2.5cm across.
