Description: An unusual specimen consisting of a massive Quartz nodule, through which runs a vein of highly crystalline Amethyst. What makes this specimen rare is the fact that the colour of the mineral is a violet-red rather than the more common purple. Also, under magnification, some of the crystals show small granular inclusions. these are possibly Hematite.
