Mineral Notes: Erythrite has a very characteristic red-purple colour which has been used by prospectors to spot veins of other cobalt-bearing ore. Erythrite, or "Cobalt Bloom" as it is called by miners, is a weathering product of cobalt-containing minerals such as Cobaltite.

Description: A very rich specimen of Erythrite on matrix. The mineral forms numerous clusters on matrix surface and consists of excellently formed elongated, overlapping, prismatic crystals. Very attractive purple-red colour and a strong glassy luster.
