Mineral NotesErythrite has a very characteristic red-purple colour which has been used by prospectors to spot veins of other cobalt-bearing ore. Erythrite, or "Cobalt Bloom" as it is called by miners, is a weathering product of cobalt-containing minerals such as Cobaltite.

DescriptionA very rich specimen of Erythrite on matrix. The mineral forms numerous clusters on matrix surface and consists of excellently formed elongated, overlapping, prismatic crystals. Very attractive purple-red colour and a strong glassy luster.

Location: Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Souss-Massa-Draâ, Morocco.
