Mineral Notes: Vanadinite is a secondary mineral formed by alteration of lead ore by water in the presence of vanadium. The mineral is light sensitive and so specimens should be kept in darkness. The bright orange colouration gradually darkens and dulls to shades of brown.
Description: Unusual brown crystals of Vanadinite on Quartz matrix. These are very well-formed, having the usual hexagonal habit. Many crystals are stacked on each other, forming numerous clusters. Very bright, attractive luster.
