Mineral Notes: Fluorite is found in a wide range of geologic environments, ranging from inclusions in granite to replacement deposits in limestones. It is one of the most commonly collected minerals because of the beauty of its specimens.
Description: A fused mass of white Fluorite on a matrix of brown limestone. Embedded in the Fluorite are highly distorted crystals of dark grey Galena. Crowning the specimen is a cluster of twinned Fluorite crystals. The remarkable feature is the clarity of the mineral, and the deep purple colour lining the edges. An aesthetic display specimen from a rarely seen location.
