Mineral Notes: Molybdenite is the major ore of molybdenum. It is found in high-temperature veins, pegmatites and contact metamorphic rocks. The mineral crystalises in the hexagonal system as prisms and scales. Its high metallic lutre and silvery-grey colour are very characteristic.
Description: Lustrous Molybdenite crystals on matrix. Most are small but have excellent form. Some crystals show the typical hexagonal form.
