Mineral Notes: Adamite is a secondary mineral occurring in the oxidation zone of Arsenic rich Zinc deposits. The mineral forms beautiful coloured crystal sprays, typically green, yellow, blue or brown. The crystal habit is orthorhombic, often grouped in fan shaped rosettes.
Description: A very rich specimen of brown Adamite. The mineral sits mostly in a matrix cavity but also on the top and side surfaces. Many of the fan-shaped aggregates are fused into botryoidal-like clusters. The mineral has a striking waxy luster.
Location: Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico.
