Mineral Notes: Rhodochrosite is a very attractive mineral with a distinguishing pink or red colour. Indeed the name means rose-colored. The species frequently occurs as rhombohedral, and more rarely scalahedral, crystals. In a massive form its pink and white bands are extremely beautiful and are often used in jewellery.
Description: A very aesthetic specimen of highly crystalline, pink, Rhodochrosite. The largest crystals form the body of the specimen and most are covered by smaller, very lustrous crystals. These give the specimen a gemmy appearance and a dazzling array of reflections when illuminated.
