Mineral Notes: Fluorite is found in a wide range of geologic environments, ranging from inclusions in granite to replacement deposits in limestones. It is one of the most commonly collected minerals because of the beauty of its specimens.

Description: Lavender coloured Fluorite cubes interspersed with white Quartz. A dark-lavender, very gemmy crystal of cubic Fluorite on the centre face, supported by a small, lustrous crystal of Galena. A very striking combination from a classic location.

Location: Blackdene Mine, Weardale, Co. Durham, England.
