Mineral Notes: Halite is one of the most commonly occurring halides and has one of the most closely investigated crystal structures of any mineral. It is found in large deposits and salt domes. As common table salt it is one of the most familiar minerals. Its food enhancing properties makes it a prized substance. 

Description: A cluster of highly crystalline white Halide. The classic cubic crystal form is easily seen although there is considerable twinning and fusion of crystals. Some of the crystals are quite gemmy. The mineral has a strong vitrous luster and is displays nicely.
