Mineral Notes: Fluorite is found in a wide range of geologic environments, ranging from inclusions in granite to replacement deposits in limestones. It is one of the most commonly collected minerals because of the beauty of its specimens.
Description: A very unusual crystal form of Calcite upon a cube of dark-purple Fluorite. The Calcite forms thin, elongated columns which stand proud of the underlying Fluorite. The colour contrast betwen the minerals is very striking and attractive, apart from the rare habit of the Calcite.
