Mineral Notes: Galena is one of the most abundant and widely distributed sulfides. It is the main ore of lead and frequently contains valuable amounts of Silver and occasionally Zinc.
Description: A large, white crystal of Quartz upon a matrix of highly-crystalline Galena. The front of the specimen is covered by a blanket of smaller Quartz crystals, which are very bright and gemmy. The Galena is very lustrous and some areas show a very pronounced blue sheen indicating the very likely presence of Silver. A truly wonderful display specimen.
