Mineral Species: Fluorite
Chemical Formula: CaF2
Chemical Name: Calcium Fluoride
Mineral Class: Halide
Mineral Notes: Fluorite is found in a wide range of geologic environments, ranging from inclusions in granite to replacement deposits in limestones. It is one of the most commonly collected minerals because of the beauty of its specimens.
Description: Large, twinned green crystals of Fluorite. The crystal faces show stepped growth zones. The edges and terminations are sharp and completely undamaged. The Fluorite shows good transparency and is therefore very gemmy. The surface is covered by clusters of white Quartz crystals. These show excellent form and provide a very beautiful contrast to the Fluorite. A superb display specimen.
