Mineral Notes: Galena is one of the most abundant and widely distributed sulfides. It is the main ore of lead and frequently contains valuable amounts of Silver and occasionally Zinc.
Description: A large, distorted-octahedral crystal of Galena in matrix. The crystal is untarnished and very lustrous. It is surrounded by small transparent crystals of Cerussite. The latter are quite difficult to see because of a rich coating of small, excellently formed crystals of brassy Marcasite. A very unusal and rich combination of minerals, which displays remarakbly well.
