Mineral Notes: Scholzite is an uncommon Zinc phosphate mineral. It was once thought to occur only in Bavaria, where a thick pegmatite deposit has been infiltrated and metamorphosed by rich phosphate hydrothermal springs. However several other locations have now been discovered, particulalry in Australia and Nevada, USA. It is named after Dr. Adolph Scholz (1894–1950), chemist and mineral collector, Regensburg, Germany.

Description: Crystalline, pale-yellow Scolzite on matrix. The mineral also forms thin platy crusts. A rich specimen of a rare mineral.

Location: Snowstorm Mine, Humboldt Co., Nevada. USA.
