Quartz, SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide), is a widely found rock-building material found in many shapes and forms. It is one of the most commonly used materials by people, having uses in glass manufacture, electronic equipment, jewelry, decoration and in ancient times for producing sparks to start fires.
Description: A thin Hematite matrix covered richly by a crust of clear Quartz and shiny, black Specularite crystals. The raised part of the matrix is covered by a mixture of clear Quartz and red Barite plates. A very interesting contrast between the red, black and colourless minerals.
