Agate and Chrysoprase

A large complex triangular matrix richly covered by botryoidal globules of Agate. This varies in colour from white, through cream, to brown. A large pocket on the surface contains spheres up to 1.5cms across. Underneath is a sizeable incursion of Chrysoprase which forms about a fifth of the matrix. The Chrysoprase is deep green but contains some brown inclusions. Transmitted light shows a strong green opalescence.

Location: Chivu, Zimbabwe.
